Since the beginning, Superior Knife, Inc. has grown from the knife and edge sharpening business to a major supplier and service provider of quality commercial kitchen equipment. We cater to many of the finest larger and family owned restaurants and food establishments. We carry a complete line of quality restaurant small wares and supplies, and have also expanded to supply food ingredients such as spices, marinades, BBQ rubs and sauces.
The roots of our company date back to 1914. Our grandfather, Gaudenzio, came to America from the small town of Giustino, located in the Trento region of northern Italy. From a push-cart, he sharpened knives, progressing to a horse-drawn wagon, and eventually on site in the back of a van. In 1947, his only son, Ugo, joined the company and, in 1958, he played a key role in opening the first workshop which helped expand the business. Ugo, who had four sons, slowly prepared and trained each of them, one by one, as they joined the business. It was not long until Superior Knife became a well known name in the knife sharpening business. We would like to think that all this is as much a result of our hard work as what our forefathers built up and left to us.
